Time, Memory, Nostalgia

Architecture has traditionally been the one of the most prominent markers of our legacy on this organic spaceship. We get to know about ourselves, because architectural systems, visual, material & behavioral, have survived the test of forces of nature over time.

A conscious effort to maximise our sensory experiences within and around 3 dimensional space, including unbuilt ones,  thereby creating tactile memory through research backed materiality & form finding. Over time, such an approach creates 'Architectures of Nostalgia, of pasts yet to be'™

Fondly known as KD, his personal pursuit of Architecture has been a conscious. deliberate off-roader so far.

Currently a Doctoral Candidate at the at the Technical University of Vienna PhD research on speculative novel architectural identities. KD’s work is informed by a deep sense of ephemerality and erasure of architectures, mentored by Prof. David Greene, of Archigram, in 2010 at Oxford, after receiving his Bachelors from Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai. `

‘We are here for those Architectures of Nostalgia,
for the pasts yet to be’

Since returning to India in 2012, his experience has been vast. Having tutored in various universities , 2013 onwards, KD has been travelling with a mission to engage with young architects by provoking discourse on contemporary architectural knowledge, diversity and inclusion in contemporary narratives within the fast-changing values of our material-, visual- & built-cultures. These are based upon the strong belief in intersectional equities, parity in representation & empathic inclusion, both at work & beyond.

The sacrality of an otherwise largely obscure, private creative praxis is paramount to a growing body of speculative, 'Incomplete Works'.
